10×20 Diptych . Acrylic, collage, map, image transfer, charcoal on birch panel. Lori used images of crows captured on wires, street signs, branches and in flight to manipulate them into surreal-like/abstract settings. Crows’ diurnal lifestyles mimic those of humans, and their social behaviours have been observed as evolutionary traits similar to our own. Through this fusion and co-mingling a new genre of landscape unfurls.

12″ x 24″. Oil on canvas. The light of the setting sun on an Arbutus tree and the Southern Gulf Islands is the subject of Sunset Arbutus. The viewer is encouraged to share in the amazing vibrant colours of the Arbutus tree and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. The Arbutus is a unique part of the ecosystem of the Pacific Northwest, as it is Canada’s only native broad-leafed evergreen tree as it usually grows no further than 8 km from the coastline of the Pacific Ocean.
